A long-range transportation plan (LRTP) is used to guide a region’s planning for a 20-year horizon. It’s a document that reflects the vision and goals of the region. The plan also includes a financially-constrained list of transportation projects; including major capacity improvements (new roadway lanes or transit links) as well as pedestrian and bicycle facilities, intersection design and traffic signal upgrades, rail and freight projects, and other critical investments.
