Regional Strategic Plan

At its meeting on June 12, 2025, the PlanRVA Commission board unanimously adopted the Regional Strategic Plan. We are thrilled to announce this significant milestone in our collective efforts to foster a thriving and sustainable future for the Richmond metropolitan region. This Strategic Plan covers the area within Virginia’s planning district #15, comprised of the Town of Ashland, the City of Richmond, and the Counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent, and Powhatan. The plan addresses subjects of paramount regional importance, including transportation, community and economic development, and environmental management. Its adoption marks a crucial step in promoting integrated planning and collaboration among our localities, ensuring that our region continues to grow in a way that is both prosperous and sustainable for all residents. This comprehensive plan, with a 5-year lifespan (FY25 - FY30) and developed in accordance with Code of Virginia section 15.2-4209, serves as a guiding document for interconnected and efficient development across our diverse region. |
