Mark Bittner
Director of Data & Technology
EmailMark joined PlanRVA in 2019 and serves as the Director of Data & Technology. In this role, Mark administers all office technology including GIS, hardware, software, websites, and audio-visual equipment. He also manages contracts with IT vendors. He manages PlanRVA's Data Team and its research and planning projects. Mark’s favorite part about working at PlanRVA is the ability to be involved with several different roles and projects at the same time.
Mark is also an Adjunct Professor in the Wilder School at VCU where he teaches GIS classes.
In his spare time, Mark enjoys playing guitar and loves listening to the Beatles and Surf music. He also enjoys playing volleyball, hiking and watching comedy films. Mark’s favorite place to visit in Richmond is Belle Isle, because there is so much to do and see. He has two sons, one at Virginia Tech and one at Mary Washington.
Mark received his MURP & GIS certificate from Virginia Commonwealth University.
