Martha Shickle

EmailMartha joined PlanRVA in 2015 and is focused on ensuring the organization runs effectively. She supports individual staff in owning their work, and builds partnerships across sectors for the entire region. Martha enjoys seeing the connections across each PlanRVA program and how the work lays a foundation for localities to build on for completing regional projects and improving the community.
When she’s not in the office, Martha loves to spend time outside and with close friends and family. A few of her favorite Richmond spots to visit include Byrd Park and Carytown and dining at her favorite restaurant The Stables.
Martha earned her master’s in Public Administration from George Mason University. She is on the National Association for Development Organizations (NADO) Board of Directors for the 2024 – 2026 Term. Martha is on the Megaregion Institutional Council for RVA757 and the Council of Peers for SouthEast Regional Directors Institute (SERDI).
She is a 2018 graduate of Lead Virginia. She is a representative to the Virginia Association of Planning District Commissions (VAPDC) and serves on the board of Thrive Birth to Five, Partnership for Housing Affordability, and the GO Virginia council.
