Katie O'Connell (proper spelling) joined PlanRVA as a Regional Planner and Data Analyst in March of 2026. Through data analysis and GIS, her role focuses on visualizing the creative strategies that promote sustainable communities throughout the region. She is dedicated to translating data for everyone to engage with, creating a sense of place and subjectivity for otherwise objective data. She loves the challenge of connecting information to unveil larger patterns and relationships.

Katie moved to Richmond to attend VCU, where she received her B.S. in Urban and Regional Planning. Outside of PlanRVA, she enjoys reading, kicking around in the garden, and watching obscure films for her movie club.
